Throughout the years, many restaurants have come and
gone at the building known as 17780 Fort St.. It all began with Mr.
Steaks, well known in the Downriver area in the 1970s and 80s. No other
business lasted as long until Dolce Vita Italian Cuisine was created.Today, twelve years later and owned by the father and son team of Pietro and Russell Cataldo, the business is still thriving
and continues to grow. Serving Downriver some of the best homemade
Italian food is nothing new to the Cataldo family,
who once owned Cataldo's Pizzeria in Grosse Ile.
"The food and atmosphere has always been what kept
us coming back for more, so when we took ownership,
we didn't want to change a thing"
Russell J. Cataldo, Owner/Manager
Dolce Vita is known for their
homemade Italian cuisine. Our sauces, breads and house dressingare made
fresh daily in our own kitchen. Our Tiramisu, chicken dishes, and
Mussels have won awards through the years.
House specials are changed once a month to give
our customers a chance to come back and try something new each visit.
Menu items are always made to order to meet their customers wants and
needs. "As long as we have the ingredients in the kitchen, we can make
anything. Dolce Vita and the Cataldo family have contributed to
many fundraisers andphilanthropies, such as the DYPAC Emerald City
Gala, Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk fundraising dinner, and countless
others that have benefited schools, clubs, and the residents of
Downriver. "We love Downriver. We grew up in Riverview and
participated in many of these fundraisers, sports and events when
we were younger so we try our best to continue to support them"
When dining at Dolce Vita, you become part of our family, as
well as our friendly and always helpful servers. The Cataldo
family invites all to visit their restaurant to dine on their homemade
delicious food, sip on a beverage from their fully stocked bar, and
become part of their family.
